Wednesday evening youth and young adult church services from 7:00 to 9:00pm are all about safe connections through fun, games, food, worship, and Jesus! Basketball, ping pong, foosball, video games, music, and conversation go on every week and help develop lasting friendships. Powerful Bible teachings help our young people to process the complexities of life and give them the spiritual insight to navigate through circumstances with faith in God. They're encouraged to look at situations through the eyes of Jesus and put their faith into action.
The Union Process
The core focus of this leadership program is skills preparation and training for success in life. The Union Process equips participants for leadership in their families, communities, and educational and professional walks by providing Biblical instruction, practical workshop experiences, and impartation from spiritual leaders. Their internship involves exercising their knowledge, understanding, and experiences through involvement in ministering in Union and churchwide activities.
The Union is on a constant move to provide new and ongoing activities. Take a look at some of our special events that we hold periodically throughout the year.
“In the Wild” Summer Camp
Camping at Sherando Lake in the George Washington National Forest and worshipping Jesus under the stars is what we call “IN THE WILD”! Young people from middle school and high school are invited to join in for three days of camping in tents, swimming, hiking, games, and, most importantly, spending time together with God - it's like having church in the woods! The messages and praise and worship at sunrise and sunset with the Union band sets everyone up for the ultimate Jesus encounter!
Project U – God Encounter Weekend
A personal encounter with God shifts a person’s life experience. This experience is the catalyst for change in the lives of young people, their families, and their schools. These encounters will meet them at their deepest level of need and will jumpstart their journey of cultivating their relationship with Jesus into a higher level. All middle and high school students are invited to this Friday night and all-day Saturday gathering filled with teaching, prayer, sharing, music, and food.
The U Live
The Union ministry regularly hosts The U Live, a concert for teens and young adults in the surrounding community. The evenings are filled with vocal groups, songwriters, and bands. The Union young people have incredible gifts, and this event is a fun, relaxed way to invite other young people in the community to join with us as we walk out our spiritual journeys.
Basketball games, Summer Olympics, movie nights, Christmas galas, talent shows, life-skills discussions, and a variety of other activities fill up our yearly calendar.
